Should a employer ask you to give them your credit report before they give you an interview?
I have been looking for a job for what seems like 2 years now and about every 15 times i submit a resume via email, i get a response that tells me i must get my free credit report before they can consider my resume. When looking at the add for the job they don’t mention this at all. Is this a Craigslist scam? I know that some places need your credit score for the purpose of hiring, but don’t they have a way to get it?
DO NOT EVER SUBMIT TO A PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER THIS REPORT! First of all it is there responsibility to obtain this information and ONLY if you sign off on a FACTA form giving them permission to obtain this infromation. Even if the job is not a scam I would never consider working for anyone or even advise anyone to work for an organization where YOU have to submit this information to them.
