credit report addresses
Why are historical addresses on credit report pulling from ex’s?

My partner has a credit history that is linked to his ex. It pops up on every credit search, report, or even generic search engines. This bothers me. Why are addresses (even ones that existed after they were no longer together) still linked to his and how can this be removed? It’s been over 7 years, I thought that was enough time for a history to fall off the radar. I know this seems petty to others, but it bothers me and has for some time.

There isn’t anything you can do with those “generic” databases. They will gather whatever info they can on you, as long as it was from public sources.

To get it off your credit report, notify the credit bureau that the address listed is not connected with you and is not accurate.
