Here’s the issue:
Three years ago during my freshman year in college, my mother used my SSN without my knowledge to order stuff from a mail order service. I recently found a complaint on my credit report from a collection agency for not paying a $50 charge. After some investigating, i found the originating company, and concluded that it was my mother. She admitted to this and claimed to have paid the debt, but of course, theres no receipt.
What should I do? Dispute the charge or pay? What effect would this have on my mother?(Which I’m currently pissed at since my score dropped more than 100 points bc of this)
