Trouble viewing my credit report because of name change?
I legally changed both my first and last name a little over a month ago, and now I can’t view my credit report (even though I have a new SS card with my new name on it, and I’ve sent proof of the name change to my credit card companies). I’m paying $15 a month for a credit monitoring service, and now it just seems like a waste of money.
How long will it take before I can actually get a credit report, and is there anything I can do to speed up the process??
No, I didn’t change my SSN. I tried annualcreditreport.com and they said I couldn’t get my credit report online because my information didn’t match.
(And 6/13/09 will be my wedding day)
One month isn’t enough time for that information to make it into credit bureau records. Submit your request by mail and include copies of documentation showing the name change.
