I have a judgment on my credit report . I did not receive goods went to court lost my rights?
I need to know my rights. My credit is bad I think we have a right to state our case in court without fear of our credit report becomming bad. The judge quickly stated jugement for collection agency. They were not in court. I could not affored a lawyer. How can I remove this judgement? What our my rights as a citizen. The companys knows their and we have no idea. I read the credit act I did not understand it. what’s Fair for us. I need help! I need to remove this judgement and I don’t know how. how can this be done? Credit reporting company and goverment states I have to wait 7 years. I even paid the judgement they removed form my wages. I feelt helpless. Need advice!
File a “motion to vacate” with the court. This a simple form to fill out. Scrutinize the documents you received from the court. Look for any clerical errors in the document such as misspelled names, incorrect amounts, anything. You can file a motion to vacate based on mistake, excusable neglect or newly discovered material evidence.
Another method is to have the creditor vacate the judgment since you already paid.
Still another way is to send the credit bureau a letter disputing the judgment. If the judgment has been satisfied, the court has archived the information. Remember, Credit bureaus only have thirty days to verify information or it must be deleted from your file. The court clerk will not be motivated to go searching for your file.
