does anyone know where i can obtain a credit report under the age of 18?
my identity is being used by someone else and im going to be 18 in a few months so i dont want my credit to be trashed. I tried talking to the authorites since i know his name and address but they just keep forwarding me from place to place is there anything i can do?
Indeed, you want to call the three credit bureaus, Trans Union, Experian, and Equifax, and advise them that your identity has been compromised. They can flag your credit report witha “fraud alert” meaning no one will be able to obtain credit and start repairing the damage that has been done. Its going to take a while.
The “fraud alert” mandates the credit bureau contact you when someone attempts to apply for credit. The person who is trying to ge credit will be told they cannot obtain credit, and, though seldom, can be caught by this method.
