Equifax credit report dispute?
I filed a dispute online with Equifax and they sent me an email stating that I need to send in or fax over my driver’s license, social security card or w2, and a utility bill to prove to them that I am who I say I am before they can process the investigation. That doesn’t make any sense to me conisdering I had to to answer specific questions to prove who I was before I could even get my credit report. I’m concerned with mailing or faxing this stuff in because that’s my whole life right there. If someone was really trying to steal my identity, they’d have everything they needed…I’m wondering if there’s another way around it because I didn’t have to do all that when I filed a dispute with the Transunion credit buerau. Thanks.
